Jay Ness (born November, 1985) is an American filmmaker, director and editor. He produces many films in his home city and state, Minneapolis, MInnesota. Ness directed the 2012 psychological horror film Silent Hill: Anniversary, which was distributed by the Machinima Network, a global entertainment channel on YouTube. The short film evoked opportunities in music videos followed by Comedy Central, HBO and international documentary filmmaking. 

Ness began launching work examining youthful and mature imagination expanding on astonishment in the world. Collectively, Ness co-founded CutJaw Film Co. with friend John J. Kaiser (Curse of the Invisible Werewolf, Bobby's Run Off, Classic. Becky. Party) and is a frequent collaborator with Uptop Films (You're In Trouble, The Wolf, Half Smile).

In 2017, Ness directed the sci-fi horror, Shear Madness, in association with INFLUX Pictures and is currently in pre-production to direct a feature film in 2018.
